Foreign shop raided yet again

Protesters go berserk as they loot shops.

Last Wednesday, foreign nationals’ spaza shops were raided and everything that was left inside was vandalised.

The day before (Tuesday), protesters looted two of the foreigner’s shop at the Meadowlands Zone 11 hostel.

The initial reason for the protest was that residents are not happy with the lack of service delivery but things got out of hand when foreign nationals became victims of their anger.

Reverend Frederick Modise Road has been mayhem since the protest action began.

Some of the residents have expressed their intent to destroy anything they want to.

They have threatened to loot other foreign nationals’ spaza shops outside the hostel.

This has bred tension and fears to other foreigners who said they feel unsafe and unprotected.

There have also been talks of violence to residents outside the hostel.

Protesters started throwing stones at residents standing opposite the hostel during their protest action.
