Angry residents assault a man for allegedly raping a physically challenged 15-year-old
The suspect was reported by an 11-year-old who saw him come out of his physically challenged sister's room naked.
A male suspect was allegedly beaten by the community for allegedly raping a physically challenged 15-year-old girl in Diepkloof Zone 4.
According to the police report, the incident took place on Sunday, April 28 when an 11-year-old witness reported the incident to his mother.
“An 11-year-old boy allegedly informed his mother that in the early hours of the morning he saw his father’s cousin coming out of her physically challenged sister’s bedroom naked. The mother then went inside the bedroom to check on her 15-year-old daughter and when she undresses her, she allegedly found blood on her disposable diaper,” said Diepkloof SAPS spokesperson captain Phephi Matlou.

“The victim cannot talk properly but she can hear when she is asked questions, she pointed at the father’s cousin as the mother was talking to her, the mother then confronted the father’s cousin and told him she has called the police he ran out of the house then the mother started chasing him screaming for help then community helped to chase the suspect. he was caught and assaulted by the community,” Matlou adds.
The police arrived and arrested the suspect he was taken to hospital where he is admitted and under police guard, a case of rape was opened and is investigated by the sexual offenses unit. Diepkloof SAPS station commander, Brigadier Makgomo Maake, is appealing to the community to not assault suspects when apprehending them, she further thanked the community for in assisting arresting the suspect.
