Kunene had studied drama in school and made appearances as an extra on both Skeem Saam and Generations, but his young career hit a stumbling block in 2018.

In 2018, aspiring actor and singer, Siphesihle Kunene was struggling so much that he completely stopped chasing his dream and forgot about his acting career. Today, Kunene has landed the chance of a lifetime to perform in New York City.

Kunene had studied drama in school and made appearances as an extra on both  and Generations. But his young career hit a stumbling block in 2018, a time Kunene described as the hardest he has faced.

His luck took a turn in March 2020, when he stumbled on a social media post by 33&Me calling for actors and singers to audition. Kunene auditioned and impressed – shortly signing with the agency after. In November, he performed at the International ARTS Talent Showcase held at silver Casino in Sandton. The event saw performers from around Africa showcasing their talents – the best performers from the event would earn a shot at the New York City IMTA Convention to be held in the United States from 18th – 22 July 2021.

Kunene was one of these performers. After impressing in Sandton, the 24-year-old is now looking to raise funds to take him to the grandest stage of them all in New York City. He will get the chance to perform in front of some of the best producers in Hollywood, Miami, and New York City, with a panel that includes Casting Directors and Agents.
