In what is set to be his biggest project to date, Lance Jnr has been hard at work in the studio. The 31-year-old is working on something he believes is truly special.
It would also appear that music lovers will not have to wait too long to hear something from Lance. “Well there is a song I am working on,” he said. “It is not done yet, but I’ve already approached Bucie to ask if she can get on it.”
Lance’s preference for Bucie is not a surprising one. What many may not know is that it was Bucie who gave Lance his big break back in 2017. Lance still identifies that time as the highlight of his career.

“It was a wonderful experience. Here I was working with an artist I’ve always had so much respect for, seeing her on TV, hearing her work,” he recalled. “I was introduced to Sis Bucie. I then worked as her DJ and it was surreal. That has been the highlight for me because that was the opening of the door. Whatever I can achieve in my career I will always trace it back to that time and the opportunity she gave me.”
If all goes according to plan, Lance’s next work will feature another music hard hitter. “I’m also in communication with Busiswa and hopefully we can get her on board as well,” Lance revealed.
The 31-year-old did, however, emphasise that there would also be space for upcoming talent. “I want it to be a mix. To have some established artists and some upcoming, I think that would be a beautiful blend of talent.”
He also advised upcoming artists to be more patient when it comes to chasing their big break. Lance himself will also bring a wealth of experience to the project.
Having recently toured Africa and the rest of the world, he admitted that he had gained a new perspective on music. “Everywhere you travel, you learn. The different systems of music and what people are listening to at the time. It’s almost a completely different outlook,” he said.
Music lovers can look forward to seeing Lance Jnr via a digital concert soon. Lance is set to perform at some of Soweto’s most prominent spots, but instead of coming to the venue, fans will be able to simply log in and stream the concert from home. While dates have not yet been revealed, there is a buzz of excitement around the new digital innovation.
