Tributes continue to pour for Mzwandile Nzimande

Loxion Kulca' pioneer passes away.

Everyone who owns any Loxion Kulca item would be sad to know that, Wandile Nzimande, the Co founder of the label has passed away on 13 January.

Also widely known as Dj1D, the news of his death was tweeted by @SA_HipHopAwards thus, “The South African Hip-hop Fraternity mourns the death of icon and pioneer Wandile DJ1D Nzimande, we’d like to send our condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace #RIPDJ1D.”

The cause of his death hasn’t been made known as of yet, however, people who fancy his apparels should know that growing up, Wandile Nzimande’s dad sold second-hand furniture, and his mom, clothing.

Nzimande once stated: “I would work in the shop with the clothing. When we started in 1999, the hip-hop culture was big. We wanted to incorporate a bit of that into our look. I love hats and so we got aunts and grannies to knit hats for us that turned into our iconic beanies. We sold hundreds of thousands of beanies. Getting them made was a big challenge, so we would commission ladies in the street to crochet them. We’d leave the wool with them on a Thursday and do a run to collect on Monday.”

Loxion Kulca supplies its products to the most major reputable retailers throughout South Africa and all its neighbouring countries. Some products even reach countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Congo, England, France, Germany, India, USA, and Switzerland.

There’s is no doubt about the impact Wandile Nzimande has had on SA and almost the entire world at the age of 45 with his famous Loxion Kulca and as a media persona. Condolences are still pouring in for the departed legend.
