Group related violence amongst learners addressed in Eldorado Park

SAPS has a zero-tolerance towards any form of bullying and violence.

Eldorado Park SAPS Management, Crime Prevention, Social Crime Prevention and Communication, visited Four Schools, Lance Vale Secondary, Willow Crescent Secondary, Eldomaine High, and Silver Oaks Secondary to address the ongoing group fights which have recently been raging amongst learners from these schools.

Two boys have allegedly been taken to ICU due to the injuries sustained because of the violence amongst these learners.

These acts all result from the formation of groups that have been created by these learners. We, therefore, encourage and advise parents to exercise stricter parental control over their children, and to ensure that the whereabouts of their children are known at all times, and also to ensure that their children are not affiliated to any group or gang.

As previously made aware to all community members of Eldorado Park, SAPS has a zero-tolerance towards any form of bullying and violence. The SAPS strictly condemns this type of behaviour. The act of violence towards another constitutes a criminal offense and does not exclude the result of a charge been opened against them, and the Criminal Justice System taking its course.

Learners found to participate in these violent acts will be arrested and the complete criminal justice process will take its course. There will be no negotiation nor any warnings given, as we have on numerous occasions addressed these topics and highlighted the consequences of violence to the learners and parents.

We once again remind parents and learners that these acts of violence have serious consequences on these learners, not only for the present moment but for their entire future.

Six learners and parents were taken to the Eldorado Park Police Station for further intervention.
