New kitchen for Thembalihle Primary School

For years now that the school has been using an asbestos kitchen that was small.

On Monday, September 21 Thembalihle Primary School in Orlando East held a mini launch for their new build Kitchen.

For years now that the school has been using an asbestos kitchen that was small. Due to the pandemic, they could not host a huge ceremony and the event was only attended by the teachers and the chairperson of the School Governing Body(SGB).

According to the Principal of the School, Happy Zungu said their happy that their modernised kitchen is now complete.

He believes that the nutrition of the school will be improved as it is important for the learners.

Amongst the attendees was the IDSO of the school Fikile Lasphe from Johannesburg North District who said she was very happy to be part of the event that will help revive the dignity of the learners.

Lasphe feels that providing good facilities in schools help make the kids feel respected and restores their pride.

She urged learners and teachers to take food care of the premises and emphasised that they should protect it from vandalism.
