Power reconnection underway in Lahlamlenze

Nomzamo be reconnected after spending 17 months without power.

It’s been 1year 6 months now that the community of Nomzamo in Orlando East has been without power after their transformer got burnt.

The community had marched, protested, and held meetings but it seemed as if it was all falling on deaf ears. On September 3 the community is all smiling as the ward councilor Sechaba Khumalo introduced the electricians who were there to restore power and fix the damages.

Chairperson of the committee in the area Thandoxolo Peter said he is happy that finally, they will be fixing electricity. He explained that as residents they really bothered the councilor because they thought he cared less for the people but now he has shown that he indeed cares for the people.
