MMC Mlungisi Mabaso equiped Mapetla hostel residents to fight Covid-19
“We speak English most of the time and people don’t understand as they should” - MMC for housing, Mlungisi Mabaso.
The MMC for housing Mlungisi Mabaso visited Mapetla hostel in a campaign to raise awareness about Covid-19 as well as to provide the residents with hand sanitizers, gloves and hand soap.
The MMC said they are targeting hostels, flats, old age homes and informal settlements as they aim to ensure that the people are informed about Covid-19 and find ways to prevent the spread of the virus.
He said they have requested the leadership to identify the overcrowded units as they will be visiting all the facilities to teach people and provide them with pamphlets, hand sanitizers, gloves and hand soap.

“The people are welcoming and they are starting to understand.
“We must keep on doing these campaigns to help people understand because there is a bit of lack of information around this and we speak English most of the time people don’t understand as they should,” said Mabaso.
He advised the public to adhere to the lockdown regulations and stay at home, to observe social distancing and keep their hands clean.
