Maqaqa family deeply saddened by the unexpected death of their 1 year 7 months daughter

Dobsonville family wants justice following the death of their daughter.

The Maqaqa family with the Green Village community is looking for justice after a 1 year 7 months baby died due to suspected fits, seizures at a daycare center in Green Village on Monday.

A close friend to the family Portia Majola said she was informed trough a message that the baby experienced fits, seizures before she passed away.

Majola said she later uncovered that the cause of death could be because of suspected forced feeding after her niece brought a video clip that showed one of the caretakers from daycare allegedly forcefully feeding the child.

The angry Green Village community accused the daycare of being dishonest.

They marched to the daycare demanding it to be shutdown.

Their request is for the daycare to be closed while the family is in mourning.

The grandmother of the child, Mandisa Maqaqa said the family is deeply hurt by the loss of baby Emihle and all they want is justice.

Protea Glen spokesperson Vincent Mashiteng said that it is unclear what lead to the death furthermore he asserts that the police are still investigating the case.

“We registered a case for an inquest, the investigations will be conducted and once we get the report the matter will be taken to a prosecutor, the court will decide,” said Mashiteng.

The daycare principal was unavailable for comment by the time to publish.
