UPDATE: February 24, 2020 @2:15

The people from Klipspruit have been co-operative after threatening to shutdown Klipspruit due to electricity outages.

The Chairperson for The Communities Electricity Crisis, Ntando Maphongwane explained that Eskom was clear to the people when telling them they have to relocate some of their houses, shacks, and structures because they have been built unofficially and exactly where Eskom needs to upgrade their systems and install cables underground.

The people from Eskom and the housing Department attended to the people of Klipspruit and were co-operative, making it look less likely that a shutdown will take place tomorrow.

The Chairperson for the Soweto Electricity Crisis Committee Ntando Maphongwane explained that they had met with Eskom.

“Eskom made it clear to the people from the area that they need to upgrade their system in the area and some cables have to be inserted underground, now that’s where the problem started.
