Orlando East was a hive of activities this morning as men of all shapes and sizes took part in the Holland Daredevil Run to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer.
The 10KM run was a prelude to a big event set to take place next month where men will run in nothing but their takkies and Speedos as a way of encouraging South Africans to go out and test for the above-mentioned cancers and get treatment early.
On its 10th edition this year, the Hollard Dare Devil Run has been daring people especially men to get out of their comfort zone and fight this silent killer which is cancer.
“The Hollard Daredevil Run is all about creating awareness of male cancers, and saving lives through encouraging and enabling preventative screening,” says Zenzile Mogoba Group PR and Comms Manager of Hollard.

The most important thing is early detection and preventative measures for men so that more lives can be saved. Campaigns like the Hollard Dare Devil Run use the power of collective action which educates people in a fun and entertaining way.
“The thing with cancer is that it could affect anyone, this is why the fight against cancer needs everyone. When we rally people up, we ignite awareness along with imparting education, which, for us, is a win,” adds Mogoba.
Survivor Thulani Sibisi could not agree more about the power of collective action. “I would like to encourage everyone to go out and test because early detection saves lives,” concludes Sibisi.
