A new school for the bundles of joys of Bulte

MEC of infrastructure, premier of Gauteng, Mayor of Johannesburg, MMC Masuku, councilors, members of parliament and legislature amongst the attendees during the launch of the Noordgesig Primary School.

The protest and boycotts of the community of Noordgesig finally yielded ripe fruits, as on January 15 they witnessed the reopening of their newly built school premises.

It was indeed a rough 18 months for the Primary School learners as they had to be moved from the asbestos school to the temporal mobile classes but it was for a good course.

“Those who were taking our children out of this community to search for better schools outside, those taxis, khumbis, those buses are making a huge u-turn back to our communities,” these are the word altered by Gauteng

He touched on the performance of Noordgesig Secondary where he eluded that who would have thought that the school can excel from an 80% pass to 92.4%.

The MEC further explained that children can get a quality education in the area.

Lesufi said they are turning things to ensure that the education system can prepare the children to compete with other children in any part of the world.

“If you can’t get education right will never get the country right, if you can’t get education right you will never get the skill right and will never get the economy right, and if we can’t get the economy right you will never get service delivery right,” stated the MEC.

He said they are building schools to liberate criminals because if children are educated the will be no need for them to do the wrong things.

Lesufi said they want to continue to eliminate all asbestos and mobile school.

Amongst the attendees was MEC of infrastructure, premier of Gauteng, Mayor of Johannesburg, MMC Masuku, councilors, members of parliament and legislature.

Premier of GP said it is indeed a wonderful day for the community of Noordgesig. He recalled of Tirhisano meeting that he had with the community where they raised the issue of schools, drugs, library, clinic and indeed their plea has been answered.
