Two women wanted for alleged armed robbery at Diepkloof Square

Women rob another woman at gun point.

A case of Armed Robbery has been opened at the Diepkloof Police Station and two women are being hunted for robbing another woman at gunpoint at Diepkloof Square.

The Communications Officer for Diepkloof SAPS, Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto explained that according to the statement given under oath by the woman who was robbed, she was passing by the toilets near Cash-build in Diepkloof Square when two women suddenly appeared and one of them took out a gun.

The woman reported that upon seeing the gun pointed in her face by one of the women, she froze and got scared, the two women then demanded that she took off her jewellery, entailing her ring and watch.

Matlou-Mteto elaborated that according to the victim, the ring that was taken costs R 10 000 while the watch cost a hefty R6000.

The robbery was reported to have taken place around 4 pm during the day and the women then left the terrified lady looking distraught during the day before she went to report the crime.

Matlou-Mteto said, “The people from Diepkloof must be mindful of the fact that during the festive season anything happens and they must always be vigilant. The two women with the firearm are not known yet, however, we are working tirelessly in finding them and bringing them to justice.”
