Diepkloof Clinic advocate about a healthy lifestyle during their open day

The open day gave people the face to face experience with relevant health professionals who had set up their stalls for visibility.

The people from Diepkloof got to know all about living healthy lives during the Diepkloof Clinic Open Day.

The host for the open day and Health Promoter, Nurse Doris Davids explained that the Open Day did not just start with the sharing of essential information on how to preserve health, but it started with aerobic exercises from Healthy Lifestyle Aerobics from Diepkloof to help the people warm-up and stretch their bodies for healthy blood circulation.

Davids said that everybody was welcomed to attend the open day and that men were even given the chance to undergo tests for prostrate from doctors from Baragwanath Hospital even checking up all types of cancer.

Both the men and women who were interested in screening for free were given the opportunity, Davids said, “We encourage everyone to use these types of open days to get screened for any diseases at an early stage because it is better to treat something before it gets severe.”

The open day gave people the face to face experience with relevant health professionals who had set up their stalls for visibility, the department of Labour and the EMS made their way to the local clinic to enlighten the people.

Andile Klaas also attended the open day to give insight to the people from Diepkloof, he said, “It is very vital to test regularly because this helps detect deadly diseases before they become chronic. You only have one life anyway, so test regularly to prolong it.”

Davids concluded that the annual event is very crucial to some people and that it was successful again this year.
