MEC Faith Mazibuko and Diepkloof residents reclaim the night

Diepkloof SAPS Brigadier Jerry Malesela explained that the Honourable and busy MEC was humbly summoned in the wake of the news of the 75-year-old lady.

The residents from Diepkloof especially the elderly citizens got to cough out their burning issues with MEC Faith Mazibuko compassionately listening before everybody joined in the march through Diepkloof to reclaim the crime-ridden community.

The station commander for Diepkloof SAPS Brigadier Jerry Malesela explained that the Honourable and busy MEC was humbly summoned in the wake of the news of the 75-year-old lady who was sexually ravaged and murdered by her grandson allegedly because of her social grants money.

Malesela said, “As the Police, we always do our best to tackle criminals and combat crime, however, we need to work hand in hand with the people to make sure that the criminals have no holes to hide for their criminal activities. We are so honoured to have the MEC here with us today to reclaim our streets at night.”

The MEC, Mazibuko spoke briefly and then gave the elderly ladies, mostly, the opportunity to speak out about all the troubles that have been irking them in their homes during their old ages.

Most of the old ladies boldly spoke out against their corrupt and drug abusive grandsons and sons who have been causing domestic chaos, some even reported their neighbours who have not been civil enough to keep the peace.

Mazibuko said, “We comprehend and empathise with the old ladies who are getting abused and violated right in their homes, and we declare war against crime and criminals including drugs.”

She further went on to urge the old ladies to stop behaving like hens all the time, always covering their many grandchildren instead of reporting incidents and leaving the responsibility to the right full persons, the parents.

The Councillor For Ward 28 Peter Ndou Welcomed everyone, before the MEC’s speech and dialogue with the local elders, he said, “I follow the MEC’s work on social media and the work she is doing is outstanding.”

He went on further to speak about how difficult it is to interfere with family-oriented issues and how much of a problem GBV is in the community even with some men falling victim to it behind closed doors.

The old ladies, mostly, attended the reclaiming of Diepkloof’s streets the MEC even exclaimed that old men hardly show interest in such initiatives then she condemned that.

From up to the general of the SAPS to the Chairman of the CPF,  Richard Rangwanase, a war against crime and criminals was declared.

A walk through the streets of Diepkloof was then taken to reclaim the streets from thugs and criminals who seem to have it in their puny minds that the streets belong to them and their illegal pistols and rusty knives at night. There was a frenzy for a moment in Diepkoof and the ladies, as the MEC urged, wore their short skirts, making the bold statement that their bodies are theirs.
