June 16 celebration to raise funds for the school choir

Learners were motivated and taught about the history of June 16.

Isiseko Primary School held a June 16 event which aimed at fundraising and educating the learners about the youth of 1976.

The school decided to help learners  realise their talent because the event included poetry, drama and singing. As much as education is important, it is important to include fun which will boost their self-esteem and confidence.

The learners were excited and happy because their teachers wore school uniform and the children wore casual clothes.

Jozi Poet Artwork Ink attended the event and performed for the attendees.

Principal of the school Annah Menoe said the event was aimed to raise funds for school choir to buy choir uniform. She mentioned that the learners will be participating in the finals of SASCE National Choral Music.

“The event was good even though the parents didn’t came to attend the event. We were not able to reach our target but we are happy that everything went well,” said Menoe.
