Sphesihle foundation donated school shoes and socks to various schools in Mapetla and Phiri

At least 100 shoes were donated

Non-Profit Organisation, Sphesihle Foundation went an extra mile in helping Ahang Foundation in their campaign to donate school shoes and socks to the underprivileged children from various schools of Mapetla and Phiri.

According to Edward Msimango they helped in donating 100 shoes which were organised by Sphesihle. Sphesihle Foundation was formed two years ago and deals with disabled children.

It was formed by Msimango after realising that many disabled children are being neglected in the society.

Edward Msimango, Bathini Pini, Miriam Maleke, Gloria Molefe and some of the parents at the foundation.

“To form this foundation, I realised that disabled children also deserve the much-needed attention in the community.

“I also realised that some parents who are raising disabled children, they keep them inside their homes and keep them away from other children that is why I decided to form the foundation to mix these children with those who have no disabilities,” said Msimango who’s child is also disabled.

He said another purpose of forming the foundation was to teach parents that disabled children also have lives outside their homes.

“The community is very much supportive in this initiative and others volunteer when we have activities for the children including sport and organising trips,” said Msimango.

He said helping each other will build the children’s future that is why he decided to lend a helping hand. The foundation is based in Mofolo and according to Msimango, they need more children and he can be contacted on 078 392 8253 for further details.
