Raising funds just to realise a dream

Lending a helping hand.

In the same spirit of Thuma Mina, Councillor of Ward 29 Brenda Dammie held a walkathon in Noordgesig. The aim was to raise funds and sanitary towels for young girls while advocating health in the community.

They had adopted four schools from her ward to be the beneficiaries of the initiative, namely: Lofentse Girls High, Madibane, Noordgesig, and Namedi.

Close to 200 people showed up for the fun day at the sports grounds and shared the donated pads the four adopted schools.

It is a well know factor all over that young girls are sometimes forced to miss school due to their periods, so the initiative will help keep a girl child at school.

Dammie said this in an ongoing project so that they can collect as many pads as they can to help bring back dignity to all young girls. She pleaded with anyone who is willing to lend a helping hand and play a huge role in one’s life.
