Paving way for the youth

Teenagers given a guide to a brighter future.

On Monday, January 15, Prolific Life & Business Coaching hosted a 5-hour seminar for teenagers from 13-18 years old in Pimville Community Centre free of charge, guiding and inspiring them to bring about a clearer understanding of their aspirations, goals and life purpose and to effect the necessary changes in their current and future behaviour to ensure the realisation of those goals and aspirations.

Prolific Life & Business Coaching is an organisation that consists of young women transformation coaches who are specialists in Life and Business Coaching.

The main aim of the seminar was to teach these teenagers values, principles and self-management. The attendance was good and kids were given activities, which indirectly revealed their characters, background, personalities, talents etc.

“We aim to empower our children, prepare them for the future. Self-confidence was one of our main focus topics. We saw the need for this coaching because kids come from different backgrounds, and therefore experience different things in life and often don’t have someone they can trust enough to tell everything, so we decided to step in and support them,” said Lelo Mnyaka director and coach.

According to Mnyaka, it served the purpose as they have received positive testimonials from those who have attended.

“The testimonials made us realise that what we are doing an amazing and we should continue. We were very happy to read a few testimonials that indicated that we made the kids feel free to say anything without being judged,” she said.

The event was a success and some parents have sent positive feedback messages to Mnyaka.

“We are going to have a follow-up, more intense and with a bit of therapy. We are going to communicate, connect and create.

“And this time we would like to invite the kids’ parents to join us on Saturday, February 17 and the venue is to be confirmed. It will be open to the public but we will have a cut off number,” she said.

The follow up will also help them determine if the kids have learned something, parents will be able to give feedback regarding their behaviour at home after the January 15 coaching.

Mfundo Mhlongo (red and black shirt) was one of the teenagers who gave in their full participation.

They were given activities to do in groups.
