PJ Simelane gunning for 100% matric pass rate in 2018

PJ Simelane high gets 96%.

Dobsonville based PJ Simelane High School obtained 96% matric pass rate which makes it the top performing school in Dobsonville in 2017.

The school Deputy Principal Nhlanhla Bindela said, their recent achievement with their matric class of 2017 surpassed their previous record of 2016 by 8%.



“This is a tremendous improvement, and we are gunning for 100% with the matric class of 2018. “Forty-six percent of our learners obtained university entrance compare to 31 percent of the class of 2016.

“Our learners also obtained 49% in diplomas, 5% obtained higher certificates and 4% obtained incomplete results,” said Bindela.
PJ Simelani had a total of 156 learners who were seating for examination, 150 learners passed and only 6 learners from their school failed in 2017.



“The top archiver in our school is David Sithole who obtained 6 distinctions. He obtained 100% in Physical Science and Accounting.
“Sithole was invited by the MEC Panyaza Lesufi award ceremony today (January 5) in Johannesburg.

“Pelonomi Ndlovu was our second top performing learner who also obtained 6 distinctions,” said Bindela.


PJ Simelani Secondary School Deputy Principal Nhlanhla Bindela applauded positive role played by their school accounting teacher Phogole Malenke.

He said they attribute their success to the hard work put by the teachers, learners, School Governing Body (SGB) and the District Office Saturday classes.

Bindela also applauded their accounting teacher Phogole Malenke hard work and urges fellow teachers to emulate her.

“Teacher Malenke accounting learners obtained 100% pass rate in matric class of 2017. She has been consistent in the past two years producing excellent results for our school.

“As a school, we acknowledge her great contribution especially Accounting being one of the difficult subjects. Teacher Malenke is an inspiration to all the teachers in our school,” concluded Bindela.
