Yearning for a normal day

One of the biggest upsets in Lihle Mbuyisa’s life is not being able to play and live a life like any other 14-year-old.

This is because she suffers from a rare lung infection that inhibits her from performing functions like a regular human being due to her lack of lung strength, added to her misery is the burden of having to carry an oxygenator everywhere she goes.

Mbuyisa has a limited distance she can travel because she uses a large home oxygenator, thus her family along with a group of artists are working on raising R47 000 so that they can buy her a mobile oxygenator.

Diagnosed last December, the most shocking finding of her illness is that doctors have not been able to pinpoint what may have caused her illness, resulting in them only being able to address the symptoms of the illness and not the illness itself.

“It first started as a common cold so I took her to the clinic and they said I must give some honey and lemon and it will go away, but the symptoms kept coming back.

“Eventually a family member took her to a private doctor and the doctor said she has pneumonia and a lung infection and then sent us to Bara.

“At Bara, they admitted her in May and was released in July this year and has never gone to school since May this year, her life has never been the same,” said Lindiwe Mbuyisa, Lihle’s mother.

Johannes Cele, better known as J.C. Cele is a gospel artist who had been planning a gospel concert in December but was still looking for a beneficiary for the concert.

Luckily Lihle has a friend- Karabo Baloi who went through a similar experience and was able to link J.C Cele to Lihle, thus Cele has decided to make Lihle the beneficiary to his concert.

In the efforts towards raising funds for Lihle Mbuyisa, both the Cele’s and Mbuyisa appeal to music lovers to show support in their concert that will be hosted at Pace Commercial Secondary School in Jabulani on December 3.

If you would like to make a donation towards Lihle or would like to attend the concert, please contact Cele on 076 228 1832 or Mbuyisa on 072 368 8856.
