Breaking News: Police officer allegedly killed during a shootout in Bramfischerville in the early hours of this morning

Gauteng police are at a scene where a police officer was shot dead during a shootout with armed suspects.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the suspects attempted to rob a Sasol Garage around 1:39 am today.

In an attempt to escape, the police chased down the suspects’ vehicle and multiple shots were heard.

A police van which was shot at, with the cop inside, is being checked by forensics. Police have blocked the road at Spar bridge in Bramfischerville Phase 1.

Our reporter is currently on the scene with the police and word from him is that Dobsonville Police spokesperson, captain Jeanette Phefo confirmed the incident.
