Kliptown has launched a manhunt following an armed robbery incident which took place on Saturday night.
According to police reports, five armed men robbed a woman of her cellular phone and money at gunpoint.
“A 40-year-old man was arrested when police responded to a complaint about a woman who had been robbed of her cellular phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.
“The man was charged and briefly appeared at the Protea Magistrate Court,” said police spokesperson Captain Hitler Ngwenya.
His four accomplices are still at large and police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information that can assist with the police investigation is urged to contact Kliptown police on 011 959 0526.
