The Orlando Magistrate Court has granted 1976 struggle veteran Seth Mazibuko R10000 bail.
Mazibuko appeared before the court on Wednesday for charges relating to public violence and damage to property. His case will be heard again by the Orlando Magistrate Court on November 3.
Spokesperson for the Orlando police captain Nomvula Mbhense confirmed that Mazibuko’s bail application was successful. The leader of the Orlando Task Team(OTO) was arrested on Tuesday following a series of protests in Orlando East which are in opposition to the installation of prepaid electricity.
Mazibuko and his OTT is accused of burning electricity metre boxes during one of their protests last month. Members of the OTT and supporters of Mazibuko came out in full force to support their leader in court on Wednesday.
