Dobsobsonville SAPS communications officer, Mzwakhe Xazi, has confirmed that two police officers were shot at in Dobsonville, Soweto in a shoot-out with robbers trying to rob a Shoprite U-Save.
One officer was confirmed dead and the other critically injured.
The injured officer has been airlifted to hospital.
No arrests have been made.
