The Gauteng Basic Education MEC, Panyaza Lesufi addressed pupils who took part at the Youth March yesterday.
Led by Lesufi himself, the Youth March by hundreds of pupils from different schools across Soweto and other parts of the province started at Mofolo Park and ended at the Hector Pieterson Museum.
Lesufi reiterated his call to make all schools in the province digital.
“We want to make sure that all chalkboards are found at museums,” said the MEC.
The march was organised as part of Youth Day celebrations which have been going on since the beginning of the month.
Today’s celebrations will take place across the country as well.
This year has been dubbed as starter leading to the main course next year when the country will be celebrating 40 years since the Soweto uprising.
