Retired Bafana Bafana and Orland Pirates striker Benni McCarthy was robbed at gunpoint yesterday.
The incident happened at Melrose when McCarthy was having a hair cut.
He had just touched down from Paris when the incident happened.
According to his agent, who was with him at the time of the incident three men walked in to the barber shop and pointed a gun at McCarthy demanding his most valuable belongings.
His watch was among the items taken from him.
The robbers got away in a black BMW three series.
No one was hurt during the incident and the former treble winner was seen last night covering the Champions League match between Juventus and Real Madrid.
