In an effort to encourage young people to use condoms regularly, Health Minster Aaron Motsoaledi along with Deputy Minister of Higher Education Mduduzi Manana launched this year’s national ‘First Things First HIV Campaign’.
The launch was conducted at the South Western Gauteng College at the Molapo Campus yesterday.
Motsoaledi introduced coloured and scented male condoms that will be presented in the public sector which he hopes will be more appealing to the youth.
The decision by government to rebrand the popularly known Choice Condoms came about last year to increase the use of protection by the young and old.
Motsoaledi said since the start of the campaign within the education sector, many learners had tested HIV positive which was alarming.
He urged all residents to get tested for HIV/Aids and Tb annually.
