Last Saturday, a man threw himself onto an oncoming BRT bus.
This happened at 12.20pm next to the Diepkloof Rea Vaya station on the Soweto Highway.
Tebogo Mogorosi, the BRT bus driver said, “The man was sitting beside the road talking on the phone and just threw himself onto the oncoming bus.
“It was clear that the man intentionally wanted to commit suicide.”
Portia Modise a commuter said: “The driver was alert and tried to swerve away from him, but couldn’t because the bus was already close enough.”
The man was taken to Baragwanath Academic Hospital by paramedics.
