EFF visits Xabanisa family

Family to be taken in for counselling after party visited them.

A delegation from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) visited the Xabanisa family last week whose two houses were burnt down in Slovoville last year.

It is alleged that the houses were set alight by a mob from the community.

EFF Gauteng deputy chairperson, Mandisa Mashego said the party plans to help the family rebuild the properties, ensure there’s restorative justice and to confront the SAPS and the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) about this matter.

“We were informed about this incident – we are here to give support and therefore we will fight on behalf of the affected family,” said Mashego.

Duduzile Xabanisa (family) said she hopes the EFF will help them and said she’s ready to go back to Slovoville.

“We acknowledge the support we’ve received this far from the community and members of the EFF,” said Duduzile.

The family relocated from Slovoville to Meadowlands where the number of people in the other Xabanisa’s family home is 14.

Duduzile said: “Eight people sleep in the main house and six in the outside rooms.”
