Senior citizens recognised

Ward 49 councillor Mandla Mlangeni recently organised a lunch for the elderly in Bramfischerville.

This event was held at the community’s Multipurpose Hall in honour of the late global icon and former president, Nelson Mandela.

Over 100 senior citizens gathered.

Mlangeni said: “Senior citizens are important people in our modern society since we need their knowledge to overcome societal ills.

“I believe that the aged still have a crucial role to play to better not only the youth but every South African citizen.

The national anthem was sung and a candle was later lit in commemoration of Tata.
