School search a success

Moroka Police and JMPD embark on a school search campaign.

Last Wednesday, Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) together with Moroka Police Station officers, youth desk, sector managers and Community Policing Forum (CPF) embarked on a surprise school visit at Vuwani High School.

The law enforcers also brought the K9 dogs with them when searching the pupils and the school’s premises.

Through the search, the law enforcers discovered only a dagga tree planted behind the school classes and knives from the pupils.

The station communications officer, John Serala said, this means the work and talks they had with pupils last time they visited the school.

“The last time we went to the school we interacted with pupils and spoke about the dangers of substance abuse and peer pressure.

“The results that we got this time is inspiring, it means our talk with them the last time was effective and they really listened to us when we condemned the use of illegal substances.”

“So we also urge parents and teachers to also play their part in motivating these youth to stay away from drugs and other illegal substances that will destroy their future.”

Serala said: “We want to thank the school management for efforts they have put forward to helping the children stay focussed on their books rather than leave them to lose focus.”
