Lofentse Girls High bids farewell to principal Semenya

The principal of Lofentse Girls High in Orlando East said her final goodbyes after serving for the past 33 years at Lofentse Girls High.

After serving for the past 33 years, the principal of Lofentse Girls High in Orlando East Gloria Semenya said her final goodbyes to her staff and pupils as she will be going on pension.

Semenya said that the past 33 years have been joyful and she will miss her pupils and her hard working staff.

“I was dreading saying goodbye, I wanted to tell you all at the beginning of last year that 2013 would be my last year but I could not bring myself to say it,” she said.

Semenya said that as much as she will miss Lofentse she knows that she is leaving it in capable hands.

Nthabiseng Xaba who was the deputy principal will now fill the shoes of Semenya.

“These are big shoes to fill Semenya was an excellent principal who made us all work as a team. I will make sure that I will carry on where she left off.”

Xaba said that this year Lofentse is aiming for 100% matric pass rate.

Lofentse Girls High was rewarded by Councillors with a floating trophy as the best-performing school in Orlando, they obtained 94.7 matric pass rate.
