EW Hobbs Primary School opened its gates to multiple organisations serving the community of Eldorado Park this past weekend.

They hosted a multifaceted charity outreach and fun day for the children on Saturday, September 09.

The purpose of the outreach was about taking care of the women in different ways, physically, emotionally and mentally.

Multiple activities were conducted as a way of reminding women that they are special and play an important role in the community.

“We are hosting an event to celebrate little girls with dreams that become women with visions.

“When women are given the right tools to succeed, they can create incredible futures, not only for themselves but also for those around them,” said Anna Marie, CEO for RySky Foundation.

The concept was about hosting an upliftment and empowerment event for women facing social, economic, hardships, discrimination and segregation with a holistic hand approach.

With eyes that say ‘I see you’ and a pair of ears symbolising ‘I hear you’ and you are important and you matter.

Juanita Damons, HOD at EW Hobbs Primary School explained that, “With this event we are trying to build our community because we have fundamental things missing with our society.

“Children have become parents and mothers are clueless in becoming better parents. How do we do our best to change our environment for a better tomorrow?”

No one was the hero in the outreach, all sponsors, charity organisations partnered together in unity to make this event a success. It was a community of organisations that strives on uplifting social cohesion and instilling a sense of hope within the community.
