The matter pertains to his arrest on March 2022, wherein a formal case was lodged against him with the Dobsonville South African Police Service (SAPS) by complaint, Victor Ramarafe who alleged that Mohlauhi and a group members of Dudula Movement pounced at his house on March 20, during an alleged house raid in search for drugs.

According to Phindi Mjonondwane, NPA Regional Spokesperson, a further condition was imposed on Mohlauhi, ordering him to pay Ramarafe an amount of R9500 in cash, on or before August 24 for damages to his property.

“The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirms that the complainant was compensated and the proof of payment of the amount ordered by the court was presented in open court on August 24,” commented Mjonondwane.

During the proceedings, Mjonondwane said the Control Prosecutor, Linda Duma argued that the court must send a strong message that lawlessness cannot be tolerated.

“The NPA welcomes the sentence and hopes it will promote respect for the rule of law. We further hope that it will deter citizens from being a law unto themselves, but report suspicious activities in their surroundings to law enforcement authorities. Credit goes to Sergeant Thivhineli Sydney Phungo and Mr Duma for their collective effort that resulted in this successful prosecution,” she concluded.
