Teachers and parents aim to work as a team

Ebuhleni Primary School thrives on good relationship with parents.

Teacher and parent interaction starts early at Ebuhleni Primary School as the relationship building meetings have started two weeks already into the school year.

The meetings were spread into different days of the week and separated into different grades to give full attention to each grade.

The meetings were unconventional because unlike most parents meeting in other schools, each day had only one meeting which focused on one grade at a time so as to dedicate as much detail as possible on a specific grade.

“The curriculum of the school was broken down into detail to make sure that parents know exactly what is expected of them and the pupils.

“Parents are also tasked into the focus points and how they can contribute towards learner improvement,” Principal Nelisiwe Khoza said.

According to Khoza, this is a method that contributes a lot towards learner improvement and suggests that trying it out has more benefits on the long run as opposed to being worried about a few hours being wasted.
