Meadowlands police hunt down robbery suspects

The 62-year-old complainant told the police that he was busy in the kitchen when three unknown males entered the house through the main door which was not locked.

Police in Meadowlands are on the hunt for seven suspects who were involved in a house robbery along Nobanda Street in Orlando West.

According to the information, the 62-year-old complainant told the police that he was busy in the kitchen when three unknown males entered the house through the main door which was not locked.
The suspects demanded keys to the container outside which is used as a spaza shop.

The complainant told the suspects that he doesn’t have keep the keys to the container. All three suspects were armed with firearms, according to his statement to the authorities.

Police spokesperson, Octavia Thebe says the suspects went outside and tried to forcefully open the container but failed.

“The suspects went back to the main house and took a computer system worth R4500, DSTV decoder worth R499, Microwave worth R500, computer system saver worth R500, clothes worth R3000, Duvet worth R200 and a Siemens cellphone worth R500,” she said.

Thebe added that four other suspects were standing outside and it was not yet established whether if they were armed or not.
