With over 30 years of experience in teaching the subject, the Diepkloof resident is now looking forward to bestowing knowledge to learners, especially those in Abet by offering one on one tutor lessons and classes.

Matseba says he obtained a BA in Education in 1993 and is driven by passion for the subject as well as offering assistance to the learners.

“With the upcoming examinations in May, some students are under the stress of not being able to comprehend the subject and the pressure will prevent them from passing their exams,” Matseba said.

According to a report by the Democracy, Governance & Service Delivery Programme Human Sciences Research Council, some learners are absent from classes mostly because of personal social challenges that range from behavioural traits such as heavy drinking to personal matters such as health and marital
problems.

Matseba also said Life Sciences is a very important subject because it teaches learners basic life problem solving skills and increases chances of being admitted into institutions of higher learning.

“The subject has produced a lot of workers in the medical field and it needs a different approach as well as teaching method.

“Abet on its own creates a second chance for the learners and through this journey they need support to be able to cope and when it comes to Life Science, I am their go to person.”

Matseba said his previous results of 80 percent pass rate and a minimum of 71 percent are evidence enough that he has an underling passion for the subject and will be able to assist the learners.
