Suspect killed by a victim in Braamfischer during attempted home invasion

Police were alerted by the victim’s wife and on arrival they saw a motionless body and immediately called an ambulance.

Three suspects attempting to rob a house in Braamfischerville on Wednesday, April 5, just after midnight met their fate when one got killed, the other got seriously injured, and the other one managed to escape without any injuries.

It is alleged by the victim that while he was within his midnight prayer, there were funny sounds outside the yard and when he peeped on the window he saw someone standing next to his vehicle.

He then switched on and off the outside lights to fend off the unknown person, he further asked what he was doing in his yard and he replied and said that they were there to work.

The victim blew a whistle to alert the neighbours but it did not scare them off.

The suspects aggressively broke his burglar and door while he was behind the door carrying an iron rod.

While attempting to enter, the victim used the rod on them. One was fatally wounded, one seriously injured, and the other one managed to escape.

Police were alerted by the victim’s wife and on arrival they saw a motionless body and immediately called an ambulance.

He was declared dead by paramedics.

According to the SAPS in Dobsonville, investigations continue to link the suspects to other house robberies/crimes that have been happening in the area.
