Jay-Dee started playing cricket at the age of nine when he joined his primary school cricket team.

“I was not completely interested in cricket at the time but the bug bit when I saw everything that went into preparing a team for a match.

“I was fascinated by the coaching process for bowlers and batters. I was also shocked when I was playing well as a beginner and everyone said I’ve got potential to make it big,” said Jay-Dee.

The young player could hardly contain his excitement for his upcoming journey to Scotland.

He believes his hard work has finally paid off and his achievements are a testament to his passion.

During his schooling career, Jay-Dee obtained the title of sportsman of the year between 2014 and 2018.

He also secured the titles of cricket player of the year from 2013 to 2019 and athlete of the year from 2016 to 2018.

Jay-Dee said he was excited to have the opportunity to play in the UK as he believes that it will open more doors for him.

He will start with HCC on April 22 when he takes the field for the club’s junior side.
