The group which visited the school to motivate the learners for the academic year handed over brand new school uniforms to over 60 needy learners at the institution.

“We learnt of the challenges the school was facing, young learners come to class hungry, some don’t have proper uniforms and we know that such factors always hinder learning, making it difficult as some kids end up being bullied because of what they don’t have,” said Jerry Chisale.

The giveaway included jerseys, school shoes, ties and backpacks.

“We are here to just give back to the community, and importantly share the word of God as our man of God, pastor Chris has sent us that this year we must win many souls and touch many young people’s lives.

“We say that as much as they are getting education, their spiritual lives also need to be fed,” Chisale explained.

Another Christ Embassy member, Lebakeng Mostekedi added, “As we give them, they are always learning from us, that even when they become successful in the future, they can do the same for their communities. It also encourages the community that we see their struggles and there are people who still believe in them.”

Deputy Principal of Pruden Secondary School, Bella Masha expressed gratitude to the church and described the event as a “true blessing to the learners.”

“As a school, we can’t fathom the words of today’s efforts; we feel honoured and thank Christ Embassy for ploughing into our community.

“We know the homes of many of these learners and we are aware of how expensive uniform has gotten for the parents, who mostly survive on government grants, so today those that are destitute, will look like any other learner and that is important for us,” a delighted Masha told Urban News.
