This comes after the non-profit organisation received the donated items from a sponsor and saw a need to give back to the community.

According to Pelican Light Foundation co-founder, Daniel Boshomane, their work is a result of the underlying love they have and since they have been working closely with the community they saw a need to give back.

Rena Le Rona Creative Centre for Children caregiver, Mandla Mathebula was thrilled to receive the donations.

“We noticed a need to donate today because we believe that it is important for children to have access to nutrition. We have a close relationship with the centre and we have their best interest in heart,” Boshamne said.

The duo, Boshamane and Karabo Ngwenya work closely with various local sponsors who give them items that they later distribute in the community and the donations for the centre were received from Pick ‘n Pay.

“We are proud to share the little that we receive because it really fills our hearts to give back to the needy.’”

The team also donated food parcels to underprivileged children in Moletsane on January 16, clothes items to Orlando Children’s Home as well as clothes and shoes to an old age home in Meadowlands.

Although the duo is passionate about community work, they are faced with various challenges while in this journey and call on sponsors and residents to offer assistance.

“We have a challenge of transportation and assistance from our community will really go a long away.”

Co-founder of Pelican Light Foundation, Karabo Ngwenya pledged donations to the center.
