Soccer in the heart of local analyst

His passion for the game grew tremendously with time and led him to be chosen as one of the players for his favorite team.

International football analyst, Karabo Pasha’s experience and passion for soccer continues to grow rapidly.

The multi-talented football lover is known for the time he spends on the screen giving viewers feedback on soccer games.

When describing his childhood, Pasha confirms that it was where his love for the game begun.

“Those were the days. I used to enjoy Orlando Pirates matches with my father, and seeing how close soccer was to his heart gave me an urge of wanting to understand the game and that was where I developed my passion,” Pasha said.

Pasha’s career highlight is joining Super Sports.

His passion for the game grew tremendously with time and led him to be chosen as one of the players for his favourite team, Orlando Pirates Football Club and the Bidvest Wits Academy development level.

Pasha also represented South Africa at the under 17 national level with 12 caps.

“I believe that spending time with my father and watching teams play contributed to my love for soccer and there is nothing I would trade for those moments.”

In 2018, the Tshwane University of Technology sports management degree holder hosted the international coaches’ seminar under the Gauteng Department of Sports in Pretoria which was followed by the five coach seminars which he hosted in 2019 for the department.

When asked about the highlights of his career, Pasha enthusiastically said “Joining Super Sports in 2021 is the moment which stands out!”

As a sport analyst, his role is to monitor records of sporting performances for teams as well as to liaise with coaches and athletes in training and competitive environments in order to ensure improvements in their performance.

“Working as an international football analyst has taught me the difference of how sport is internationally and locally, especially soccer.

“Starting from the early age in which international players make their first debuts as compared to local players.”

He added that sporting facilities also play a huge role in the development of the players and it might take South African teams some time before they can bridge the present gap and be on the same level as international teams.

Apart from his loved profession, Pasha enjoys spending time with his loved ones and reading novels.

“I am actually a very reserved person, I love being around my family because I believe that our loved ones bring out the best in us.”

Pasha encourages young people to start early when pursuing their dreams and to never stop until they reach them.

“I wish I started before tertiary. I cannot emphasise the importance of channelling ones thoughts in order to reach what their heart desires however, it’s never too late to start.”
