Local police hit the streets for 16 Days of Activism awareness

Sebenza SAPS in partnership with community stakeholders embarked on an operation to create awareness for 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Children.

Police officers, SOS Security, Lethabong, JMT and Kempton Park Taxi Associations created awareness in Sebenza SAPS policing precinct on December 8.
Sebenza Police Station’s communication officer Sergeant Sharron Tsotsotso said the stakeholders first drove in convoy through the area and alerted the community of GBV and the ongoing campaign.
“We finished up with a vehicle checkpoint at the P91 where pamphlets warning community members about alcohol abuse and providing festive season safety tips were shared,” said Tsotsotso.

She said during the operation one illegal shebeen was closed, two J534’s issued, two undocumented individuals were detained and 150 vehicles were searched.
