Operation Vhuthu Hawe within Dobsonville policing precinct

Dobsonville Communications Officer, Constable Vusi Thokwan said the operation was a major success with outstanding results.

Dobsonville SAPS acting Station Commander, Colonel Lengau and members of various law enforcement agencies led an intensified operation VHUTHU HAWE on Friday, October 7 within the Greater Dobsonville policing precinct.

A total of seven suspects were detained following the operation for various offences ranging from possession of drugs, illegal immigrants and possession of a dangerous weapon by the members of the Dobsonville SAPS, crime prevention unit, social crime prevention and patrollers.

Dobsonville Communications Officer, Constable Vusi Thokwan said the operation was a major success with outstanding results.

“The addresses provided by community members of alleged criminal activity were raided, the tracing of wanted suspects conducted as well as random stop and searches.

“We also managed to confiscate dangerous weapons including knives and illegal mining implements.”

He added that the various suspects will appear before Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court in due time.

Constable Thokwan furthermore urged the community to report any illegal activities within the Dobsonville Policing precinct by making use of the SAPS Crime Stop Hotline number on 08600 10111, the Dobsonville SAPS Relief Commander on 079 525 1373 or the Client Service Centre on 011 983 1506.
