Suspect wanted for rapes in Zone 6
It is alleged that the suspect preys on women waiting for taxis in the early hours of the morning.
DIEPKLOOF SAPS have released a Bolo(be on the lookout) alert on a serial rapist on the loose who has been linked to a number of recent rape cases in the Zone 6 area, between Calvary Church and the open space nearby.

It is alleged that the suspect preys on women waiting for taxis early in the morning and late in the afternoon or passing through the open space going to Bara Taxi Rank. The police station has already opened a number of rape cases from the victims of this suspect.
“We are appealing to the residents to assist in arresting the suspect who is terrorising the community in Zone6.
“The only information that we know at this current juncture is that suspect wears black clothes and a hoodie to hide his face. Based on victim reports, he seems to be working alone,” said Captain Phephi Matlou, Communications Officer at Diepkloof Police Station.
The Station Commander of Diepkloof Saps, Brigadier Makgomo Maake also urged residents who may have seen the suspect or witnessed the crimes to come forward and work hand to hand with law enforcement in apprehending the suspect.

Maake once again has urged the community not to use dark roads with no street lights or pass through open spaces with long grass.
Residents must use visible main roads and avoid short routes which are not safe.
