Foundation gives back in Pimville and Kliptown

Blankets and food parcels were donated to pensioners from the two communities while meals were also served to children on the day.

Kasi Hero Foundation celebrated Mandela Day by giving back to the communities of Pimville and Kliptown on Monday.

Blankets and food parcels were donated to pensioners from the two communities while meals were also served to children on the day.

The initiative formed part of the organisation’s ongoing work of uplifting the community, with a focus on the less fortunate.

With Mandela Day being a day where individuals and organisations dedicate their time to doing good for their communities, Kasi Hero saw it fit to continue with their work of taking care of the elders and children of Pimville and Kliptown.

 

Everyone got something from Kasi Hero Foundation on Mandela Day.

 

The day was not just about giving the people food but it was also about spending the day with them and showing them some love.

One of the guests on the day was reality TV star and former Big Brother housemate, Acacia Madi.

She spoke to the grannies and reminded them that they are important and young people in the community feel blessed to have them around.

Also present to support Kasi Hero Foundation was Nhlanhla Tshabalala of the Nhlanhla Tshabalala Foundation also based in Pimvlle.

Tshabalala also got a chance to talk to the grannies and reminded them that they are important in the community.

Silas Mabunda from Kasi Hero Foundation said everyone needs to pay their part in building better communities, not just on Mandela day but throughout the year.

“We donated 100 blankets, vegetables and maize meal to pensioners as part of our Mandela Day celebration.

“I would like to thank the Kasi Hero team for their efforts and team spirit,” said Mabunda.

Mabubda also thanked Boxer Superstore, Thandamuntu Driving School, Easypay, Nhlanhla Tshabalala Foundation, Hollywood Foundation, Pfurhisani Magaza, Angel Network SA and Kliptown SAPS for supporting them and making the event a success.
