Dobsonville Police convict suspect for murder

The 29-year old male was arrested in September 2020 after he stabbed a person to death.

Dobsonville police have secured another victory in their fight against crime following the conviction of Mlindeni Moyo for premeditated murder.

The 29-year old male was arrested in September 2020 after he stabbed a person to death.

“It is alleged by the friends that the incident happened while they were home with Moyo when suddenly he got up, went to the gate and started stabbing people.

“The intention is still unknown to the friends,” explained police spokesperson, Constable Vusi Thokwan.

The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was then arrested.

Detective Sergent Mashabela was tasked with handling the case and led the investigation.

His work led to a conviction and an 18 years direct imprisonment sentence.

Detective Sergent Mashabela’s work was applauded by the Station Commander, Brigadier Kuboni following the conviction and sentencing.

Brigadier Kuboni also condemned acts of violent crimes in the area and called on residents to work together with the police to keep the community safe.
