Operation ‘skoon maak’ sweeps Eldos

As a result of the operation, a total of 12 suspects were detained for various offences ranging from attempted murder, possession of drugs, possession of dagga and assault.

Eldorado Park SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Maluleke and members led an intensified crime fighting operation on June 10 which yielded successful results in the Eldorado Park policing precinct.

As a result of the operation, a total of 12 suspects were detained for various offences ranging from attempted murder, possession of drugs, possession of dagga, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault common.

“The addresses provided by community members of the alleged lolly lounges were raided, the tracing of wanted suspects conducted as well as random stop and searches.

“Illegal taverns were also raided by the members, as well as dangerous weapons including knives were confiscated,” said police spokesperson, Sergeant Roxanne Gibb.

Other confiscations included nyaope, crystal meth drugs, rock drugs, mandrax tablet and dagga to the estimated street value of R3000.

“The various suspects will appear before the respective courts during the course of this week,” added Gibb.
